The success of Strootman Group is based on a tradition of respect, innovation and extensive knowledge of the market which goes back more than 25 years.

The founder of Strootman Group, Mr. Henk Strootman, came from a grocery family. In 1981 he started his first business selling vegetables and fruit in Rotterdam and in the following year he opened a bazaar in Meuse city.

Increasing quantities of confectionery and chocolate products were found, many in the lower price segment. In 1988 the volume purchases and sales became large enough to require a suitable warehouse, which was located in Zevenbergen.

Two years later, the business became a limited company and moved to Klundert. Following continued rapid growth, the company moved to Oudenbosch after a further two years.

In 2009, a large brand new warehouse was constructed next to the existing buildings in Oudenbosch.

In summary, a small, one-man business has now grown into an internationally operating group. It is still headed by Mr. Strootman, specializing in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) market.

Nowadays Strootman Group B.V. employs over 75 people in its sales, purchasing, logistics, administration, human resources and marketing facilities. Thanks to their efforts, Strootman Group B.V. has now become a household name for a large number of multinationals and retailers.
